St.Josephs RC Primary School are creating a theme around World War 2 and including nostalgic interviews with local residents whose memories are to be explained on camera, we will update more shortly. We filmed this event on November 5th 2011 at the Hartlepool Art Gallery on Saturday November 5th. The plan is to build up more memories and information and to create a DVD of those special memories.

We have created a Dvd version of the previously popular released audio version of "There's A Tear In My Beer."
In 1989 former BBC Radio Cleveland country music disc jockey, Stan Laundon, made a four-track record for charity and raised more than £1,000 for the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association and now, 22 years later, he's at it again!
No, he's not making another record - he's making a video of one of the songs - "There's A Tear In My Beer" and has acquired the services of local celebrity Johnny Larkin.Johnny, of Caledonian Road who's 85, guested on the song all those years ago and Stan thought it would be a good to ask him to join him again.Stan, who now 68 and lives on the Headland, said "I've always wanted to do a video of this duet with Johnny and, as none of us are getting any younger, I asked Masspro if they'd help us out." Derrick of Masspro has been kind enough to offer his services free of charge and any profit made from the video will again go to charity. This time Stan has opted for the Royal National Lifeboat Association.Various locations around the town will be used as a backdrop for the video including the Cafe Rappor Bar on Navigation Point, Hartlepool Marina, the Headland and Ward Jackson Park.The 1989 EP, which was recorded at the Grass Roots Studios in Cumbria, was produced by Malcolm Mason of the trio Lemon Grass who also provided the instrumental backing and harmonies. The band couldn't make the journey to Hartlepool to appear on the DVD so Stan and Johnny will mime to the original song. Filming started 5th October.

A CHARITY night organised by two town crooners has raked in £1,000 for a life-saving service.
Stan Laundon, 68, and 85-year-old Johnny Larkin, organised a charity concert in aid of Hartlepool’s RNLI.
The pair, who have also recorded a musical DVD featuring their version of US country star Hank Williams’ There’s a Tear In My Beer in aid of the lifeboat charity, said around 200 people attended the event.
It was held on Wednesday night at Hartlepool Workingmen’s Club, in King Oswy Drive.
Stan, a former BBC Radio Cleveland presenter who lives on Hartlepool’s Headland, said: “We raised £1,000 at Hartlepool Workingmen’s Club for Hartlepool RNLI.
“I’d like to thank the club and committee for their help, but especially Phil Gibson, Ken and Billie Ford and Eric White who provided their musical services free of charge.
“A big thank you must go to all the people who supported us on the night and donated prizes for the raffle.”
Stan and Johnny, a dad-of-three and grandfather-of-11 from Caledonian Road, previously appeared in the Hartlepool Mail describing how they had filmed scenes for their DVD, which is also acting as a tourism video for Hartlepool, at various locations around town, including beside the Andy Capp statue, St Hilda’s Church, Cafe Rapport and The Cosmopolitan pub.
The DVD is £3.99 in a CD case or £4.99 in a DVD case with a coloured sleeve and produced by Derrick Rowbotham, of Park Road-based Masspro Productions.
It is on sale at various outlets, including The Cosmopolitan, in Durham Street, from town restaurateur Krimo Bouabda, from the Fisherman’s Arms, in Middlegate, and from Coffee Rapport, at Navigation Point, and Bobby’s Lifestyle express, in Northgate.

As announced on the evening SYB raised a fantastic £15,150 on the night. This means they have raised over £38,000 in the first twelve months of fundraising. This is way ahead of what was thought could be achieved and means that they should be able to reach their goal of installing a vital piece of machinery into our local hospital within the next year rather than the five year plan they had in place. Monies raised after that will be used in raising awareness into the disease and additional projects.
We were again at The Grand Hotel on Friday 8th July to cover SYBs latest evening for a bigger acoustic event photographs will appear in the Hartlepool Mail and on our web site on page 7. May we take this opportunity of thanking SYB for their appreciation shown and the numerous people who have contacted us and admired our work.
